Nashua Flute Choir 25th Anniversary Concert: May 17

Lush harmonies and agile technique: the sound of a flute choir is something like a marriage of string orchestra and mighty pipe organ, where all the instruments are members of the same family, able to blend as no mixed ensemble can. From the inimitable highs of the piccolo and E-flat flute to the incomparable sound of the giant contrabass flute, the sound of a flute choir, now often referred to as a flute orchestra, is far more than your childhood memories of a little, tweeting instrument in the front row of the band. Our performers can bring the most intricate counterpoint to life with facility and grace, and surround the room with a warm sonority you're sure to enjoy.

We'll play transcriptions of works by Bach (the Brandenburg Concerto No.3), Holst (the mighty St. Paul Suite), and many other classic composers: music re-worked to suit the nature of the flute, while keeping all the beauty and excitement of the original. America's finest arrangers have brought well-known pieces to new life through the medium of the flute choir... from Mozart to your favorite jazz composers- it all works for the Nashua Flute Choir.

Our 25th Anniversary Concert will be held on May 17, 2008, at 7:30 PM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 216 E. Dunstable Rd, Nashua. For more information, please see our website at www.nashuaflutechoir.com or contact Linda True at lbtrue@comcast.net
