Announcing the 2010 Jr. Actorsingers musical, "A Little Princess"

Auditions: (Grades 3-8) at Actorsingers Hall, 219 Lake St. Sunday, January 10, 12:30-4,
Callbacks: Monday January 11. 6-8:30
Show Dates: March 26-28 at the Janice B. Streeter Theatre, 14 Court St., Nashua

Children in grades 3-8 are invited to audition for the show. Please prepare a short monologue and song. Bring sheet music if possible. Rehearsals will be Sundays from 1-4 p.m. and Thursdays from 6-8:30 p.m. The week before the show, rehearsals will be every night.

You must be a family member of Actorsingers to audition for this show. Family membership is $15 for one season (July-July) Membership forms will be available at auditions for those who have not yet paid this season's dues.


"A Little Princess",is based on the classic children's story by Frances Hodgson Burnett who also wrote "The Secret Garden". It is the story of a rich girl sent to boarding school who must become a servant at the school when her father dies penniless. There are two well known movies based on the story, one a 1939 version starring Shirley Temple (called THE Little Princess), the other a 1995 version. Both are available on DVD and the Shirley Temple film is posted on YouTube. Building 19 is currently selling a hardcover copy of the book for $1.99 and it available at most libraries and bookstores for those who would like to read it.
